Start praying now!
Dear Family and Friends,
As many of you know, I traveled to Nicaragua this past August on a mission trip to drill a well, teach hygiene and sanitation and share the word and love of Christ in a small village. God blessed that trip in every way and we saw the Lord move in our hearts and the hearts of the people of Hato Grande #2. In his infinite provision the Lord blessed us with a successful well that will nourish and serve the village for years to come. It was such a pleasure to be able to love and serve the Nicaraguans, and in doing so demonstrate Christ’s love for them and us. A woman from Hato Grande remarked ‘I am finding myself on a path that is bringing me closer to a relationship with God. The wells have helped me realize God’s love for me and for my people.’ Praise the Lord!
For me, the trip was life-changing. I have never experience such poor conditions. The living conditions at Hato Grande #2 were atrocious and yet, to meet the people, worship with them as we did on Sunday, and talk with them and know their joy despite their conditions was amazing. The Lord loves Nicaragua and now I do as well. I am amazed that the Lord would choose use a selfish sinner like me to help Him in His work but I am infinitely the richer for His love and faithfulness in that. I am currently seeking a place where I can be serving the Lord and his people fulltime. For more of my thoughts on the trip as well as to see photos, please chck out other posts and links on this blog. I will continue to share my thoughts on life and what-not here so it is a good way to find out what I’m up to!
Until then, I have the opportunity to go back to Nicaragua in January! I will be back in the Leon area from January 11-20. We will be drilling another well and teaching more hygiene and sanitation classes and I pray that the Lord will bless this next village as He did Hato Grande #2. I am so excited to go back to what feels like a home away from home and excited to work to bring clean and safe water to more people.
I covet your prayers ans encouragement for this trip. It is a busy time of year and I seem to be pretty busy so I will need prayer to keep my heart and mind on track so I am prepared before I go and once I get there. Prayer is such a gift to us and such an encouragement and blessing to see God answer those prayer as He did in August!I am also raising funds to cover airfare, food and lodging and drilling supplies. If you want to help me with that, please let me know and I will tell you how you can help in that way. Please also email me with any questions or thoughts; I would love to share more about the ministry and about how the Lord has been working in my life.It is with great expectations and excitement that I prepare to return to
Nicaragua and loving the people in word and deed! For updates on our preparations, please visit the VeNture missions page. Thank you so much for your love, support and encouragement, you are a blessing to me!
